Hi, I'm David Winsch!

I am captivated by the intricate beauty of the natural world, a realm often overlooked in today’s fast-paced, technology-driven society. My work delves into the delicate ecosystems that surround us—from the fine details of insect wings to the weathered textures of animal skulls, the quiet resilience of landscapes, and the vibrant energy of flora and fauna. I explore the cyclical nature of life and death, capturing the interplay of creation and decay. These themes emerge in my work through printmaking, drawing, and ceramics, with a special focus on strappo monoprinting, a technique that preserves the ephemeral beauty of nature through controlled yet unpredictable layers of ink and paint. Rather than striving for realism, my artistic style is intentionally abstract, seeking to evoke emotion rather than replicate the world as it appears. My goal is to inspire in the viewer the same sense of wonder and awe that I experience when immersed in nature. Through the layering of inks, the textures of monoprinting, and the interplay of light and shadow, my work becomes an invitation for contemplation—urging viewers to reflect on their own relationship with the natural world.
